The marketplace is the start of the organization’s aim to give fans more ways to indulge in their fandom and own a piece of the action.

There are four types of digital collectibles for fans of the jewel of the HSBC Sevens series to enjoy.

To get the fun started, the first collectibles feature the league’s flying red dragon mascot, Wai Bei, who “went missing”* during the covid lockdown and found his way into the metaverse. Until November 3, every fan who logs into the new platform will receive a free commemorative NFT featuring Wai Bei. Fans attending the tournament can also participate in a “Where’s Wai Bei?” treasure hunt, searching for 5 QR codes hidden throughout the stadium to unlock more free Wai Bei collectibles. Intrepid fans who find them all will be entered to win a Golden Ticket upgrade to a VIP experience at the tournament.

Other collectibles dropping include team cards, which will be sold ahead of the tournament start. During the tournament, a game ball and jersey NFTs will be auctioned, and the winners can redeem the NFT for the ball that was used in the tournament and jerseys. In addition, attendees at Hong Kong FinTech Week and Golf Day can also receive unique free commemorative NFTs which makes them eligible to win free tickets to the November games, and a Golden Ticket for exclusive access to VIP areas in the stadium.

The new platform will give fans many opportunities to engage in their favorite sport year-round, in the run-up to the April games. It will feature the greatest moments in HK7’s history, iconic art, imagery, and unique collectibles, giving fans a chance to own a piece of the game’s past, present, and future. NFT ‘Wild West’ Era Demands New Standards for Crypto Industry

Several weeks ago, Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox nixed his high-profile NFT project, “Swipa The Fox,” leaving 3,000 fans bitter and bewildered, holding the now-worthless NFTs. In January, IQONIQ, a huge fan platform based on cryptocurrency, collapsed, along with its deals with Spain’s LaLiga, the McLaren Formula One team and numerous high profile football leagues. IQONIQ’s millions of tokens issued and sold in crypto are now worth close to nothing. The damage has been reported to be into the millions, but the loss of trust by fans and brands likely has a substantially higher price tag.

While these shiny new digital objects have the power to completely change the brand-to-fan relationship for athletes and artists, right now, we’re in the “wild west” stage of so-called Web3. Some rights holders leaped into technology they don’t fully understand, and leaned into partnerships with companies and individuals who aren’t a cultural fit. Many come from industries where the culture rewards those who get there first and ask questions later. The promises of profits dazzle. But, for the sports industry, that’s a rookie mistake.

Rugby League World Cup 2021 and their NFT Partner, NuArca Labs, have today (Feb 16) launched the Official Digital Collectables Marketplace, which sees the first RLWC2021 collectables (NFTs) becoming available online for fans globally. To mark the launch of this new online marketplace, the first 2,021 fans to create a RLWC2021 digital collectable account will receive a free commemorative NFT.

The first sets of collectable packs will become available for purchase online in March. The first set will be called “The Power of Together” which focuses on the tournament’s trophies, nations, ambassadors and hosts. The second set, “Rugby League World Cup: The Vault”, will be dropped at a later date and includes historical moments in previous World Cups, programmes and memorabilia.

The collectables celebrate this year’s event as the biggest and best Rugby League World Cup as well as the history of the tournament. Taking a similar form to an online ‘sticker book’ where you can collect your favourite teams and players, fans will be able to acquire unique digital collectables, as well as purchase and trade them in the Marketplace.

Each pack, which will be available from £9.99, contains at least three NFTs and are easily shareable and tradable by fans. Designed by NuArca Labs, fans can buy the collectables with a credit card, or with cryptocurrency, and enjoy their digital collectables right away. They can play and keep track of the collectable challenges and display, share and trade the NFTs. Packs include fun challenges and the chance to win unique RLWC2021 experiences and merchandise, from merchandise discount to tickets, plus exclusive pitch-side moments during the tournament.

Fans can also look forward to a unique collectable pack that will become available at tournament time, which will focus on all action from the men’s, women’s and wheelchair tournaments taking place later this year. In addition to the collectable cards available within packs, RLWC2021 will be putting up for auction four key moments from Rugby League World Cup history that fans can bid on to become the exclusive owner.

Upon creation of their account the gifted commemorative NFT will appear on their ‘My Cards’ page within 48 hours as a badge of honour for their association with the tournament. These gifted commemorative collectables will not be included in on-sale packs or available to the general public.

Rugby League World Cup 2021 (RLWC2021) has today (14 September) announced a commercial partnership with NuArca which will see the launch of a non-fungible token (NFT) fan experience and marketplace for the tournament – the first official NFT marketplace in the history of Rugby League.

Rugby League World Cup 2021 will be the biggest and best Rugby League World Cup ever held. Staged at 21 iconic sporting venues across England, it will create history with the Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair competitions being held simultaneously for the first time at a major sporting event.

Scaled Pilot For Proxy Voting A Success

December 20, 2017

Our first project passed a major milestone in early December. Meeting 100% of both the accuracy and scalability performance requirements AST and NuArca's Hyperledger Fabric based proxy voting solution passed the scaled pilot phase with flying colors. The system processed over 8 million voting shareholders representing over 1 trillion shares with perfect accuracy in tabulation and meeting high volume processing benchmarks.

We are now working closely with AST to move this system into live production with a target go-live date of March 2018. By end of 2018 the majority of AST's proxy voting voting and tabulation services will be using this system. The system will be hosted as a cloud service easily enabling extension to other proxy service providing stake-holders. This new blockchain based proxy voting system will one of the very first production uses of blockchain in the financial services industry. Stay tuned for more information and updates.

AST and NuArca will work together to pioneer advances in proxy analytics and reporting that utilize immutable blockchain results and real-time facts to support issuers in the creation and execution of successful proxy campaign strategies. This solution will facilitate greater transparency and confidence in data handling, allowing issuers to make more informed decisions and strategy adjustments. It will also allow AST’s proxy solicitation experts to access advanced predictive analytics to guide complex proxy solicitations.

NuArca has already developed and demonstrated the efficacy and value of blockchain technology and bot interfaces for AST's transfer agent and equity plan management services.
